Do not collect gates
Fushimi Inari at dawn or not at all. Arashiyama is a morning, not a half-day plus lunch plus a second temple on the other side of town. Gion at night is a walk, not a staged photo stop.
Stay in the basin
Downtown or near a subway line. A ryokan in the hills is a stay, not a hub. Pair Kyoto with Tokyo or Osaka as a second city — Generate can write both — instead of day-tripping everything from one hotel.
